Applications are open to all undergraduate, postgraduate and research students who have firmly accepted an unconditional offer or are currently enrolled on a programme at Queen Mary.
Whilst receiving this scholarship, recipients are expected to make a major contribution to the musical life of Queen Mary. Scholarships will generally be awarded to students whose musical interests and talents can support Queen Mary’s commitment to music making within public engagement.
At the end of the academic year, each Music Scholars’ instrumental or vocal tutor will be asked to provide a short report demonstrating the scholar’s commitment and progress. Upon satisfactory receipt of the report, and subject to academic progression, scholarships will be extended for another year.
Music Scholars must successfully progress to the next academic year of their course, repeat years cannot be included in Music Scholarship provision. Should a Music Scholar withdraw from their course; no further payments will be made.
In accepting a Music Scholarship, you agree to make available to Queen Mary a short profile of yourself and allow this to be used (with permission) in marketing and publicity by Queen Mary. You will be encouraged to be in promotional photographs for marketing use, if appropriate, though this will be optional.
The annual Music scholarship of £350 will be paid directly to the instrumental or vocal tutor at the start of each academic year.
