A stipend of C$70,000 per annum is available for 2 years.

To be eligible for this scholarship, you need to:

• Have fulfilled all degree requirements for a PhD, PhD-equivalent or health professional degree: between September 15 2018 and September 30 2022 (inclusively), and before the start date of their award.
• Applicants must not hold a tenure-track or tenured faculty position, nor can they be on leave from such a position.
• Applicants who are not Canadian citizens or permanent residents of Canada may only hold their Banting Postdoctoral Fellowship at a Canadian institution.

Banting Postdoctoral Fellowships awards must be taken up and held at the host institution that provided the initial endorsement. Before applying, confirm that you and your proposed host institution meet the eligibility criteria listed at the Banting Postdoctoral Fellowship website.

Selection criteria

All eligible applications to the Banting Postdoctoral Fellowships program undergo an evaluation by a selection committee from one of the three federal granting agencies: the Canadian Institutes of Health Research, the Natural Sciences and Engineering Research Council, and the Social Sciences and Humanities Research Council.
