Biology includes a variety of diverse disciplines. Main biology areas include animal biology (zoology), molecular biology, human biology, evolutionary biology, computational biology, but this is only a small amount of numerous biology sub-disciplines. Program structure
An undergraduate Biological Sciences program usually start with an introduction year, after this year students are expected to choose their specialization. Undergraduate Biological Sciences study programs usually last from three to four academic years, it depends of the chosen institution and country. They often include a variety of internships and practical lessons, which depend on the students’ specialization, for example, students specializing in molecular biology are enrolled in lab practice, and zoology students will do field work. Some universities host joint Bachelors and Masters study programs, which allow students to get a Masters degree faster.
How to apply?
Universities do not usually request specific requirements for Biological Sciences undergraduate applicants. High GPA scores or just high scores in biology and chemistry are often required. Applicants should also be interested in biology and research work.
